Zonal distribution of key coccolithophores species in surface waters of the Nordic Seas : toward a better understanding of micropaleontological proxies

In a recently submitted paper to Biogeosciences, CASE-ESR Christian Dylmer and colleagues investigate the distribution of the two most abundant extant coccolithophore species in the Nordic Sea across two zonal surface water transects (Fram Strait and Norwegian-Greenland Sea). They particularly make use of available information derived from remote-sensing images to investigate the complex links between the physical/chemical status of the upper mixed layer and the standing stocks of both taxa.
