Congratulations to the two newly graduated PhD students from EPOC

The two PhD students of the CASE network supervised by Jacques Giraudeau from EPOC are now Doctors.


On December 17th 2013, Christian Dylmer defended his PhD thesis entitled "Reconstructing the Late Holocene (last 3000 years) history of surface water changes in the Eastern Nordic Seas : a view from carbonate and organic-walled phytoplankton remains."

Gesa Milzer defended her PhD thesis entitled "On the significance of benthic stable isotopes and dinocyst assemblages as tracers of recent climatic and hydrological changes in the coastal area of central Norway (Trondheimsfjord) : a proxy validation study" on December 18th.

First mapping of the sea-ice proxy IP25 in surface sediments of the Barents Sea

A new QSR paper entitled "Mapping recent sea ice conditions in the Barents Sea using the proxy biomarker IP25: implications for palaeo sea ice reconstructions" by Alba Navarro-Rodriguez and colleagues is available online.
